I've often feel that I enjoyed creating and working on the look and setup of a blog more than the actually writing of the blog posts. Despite the difficulties and frustrations of setting up a blog and making it look how I want it to look, that part of creating the blog is still easier than the writing. It's not that writing posts is hard, it's not, but writing good posts that are interesting and intelligent is hard.
I've manage over the past few months to get this blog to look pretty much how I want it to. But there has been frustrations.
Apparently, most people are not interested in where their visitors and commenters are from. It seems almost impossible to get a field in a comment forum that asks for the visitors location. I would like a great guestmap, but I can't find one that is affordable. And even though Wordpress has thousands of plugins, only a few of those plugins are updated regularly, so you have to be careful about becoming committed to a plugin that could eventually become obsolete and broken. This forum is a plugin. I can only hope that four or five years from now it does not go out of business.
Oh well, you can only do your best with the resources you actually have.
