I'm still struggling to define this blog. I want it to be a really good, interesting blog, but most of all I want it to help me to understand the world I'm living in. I suppose that is the main, overall theme of this blog, me trying to gain a greater understanding. I suppose that is the general theme, but there are special points of interest. I'm interested in poverty and equality, violence, why people believe what they believe, the allure of religion, most things scientific, and what is the best philosophy and approach to living that will help everyone get the most out of their lives.
I also understand I need to start upping my game. I've created my blog and given it a look that I'm very happy with. It's not perfect, but overall I'm more than happy with it and can live the imperfections, at least for now. Now is the time to start thinking about the quality of what I write. And by quality I do not necessarily mean longer, I mean better researched and deeper thought out, which probably will produce longer articles.
Producing great quality is not something you just start doing. You first have to learn to see the lack of quality in what you are doing. That can be hard and takes a lot of time. Next, learning to research ideas is not quite as easy as it seems like it should be. And finally setting up a system for developing articles over a period of time, where a long list of articles are in the process of being developed and then published when they are ready, fully researched, supported, and well written. Usually, I just write stuff of the top of my mind, like I'm doing now.
I'm afraid learning to write great, thoughtful and insightful articles will be more difficult than creating the look of this blog.
